"Odessa"
Choppy winds and storm tossed seas
Sails set all along
Long ago they left this place
Only to return anew.
New friends come what may
In joy
In gratitude
Peace shall come
Wicked snake
Running slimly bug
And they looked
And they ran
Toward Jerusalem going
Upon walls built so long
Brass tall and strong
Soon to be war to come
Decision made long ago
Fortune tellings sons lay dead
Their wives to uphold a nations dread
And husbands strewn on desert floor
While gypsies sing in houses gold.
Across the waves on storm tossed seas
Tranquility waste
Child left to be
Of limbs
And balls
And toys
And guns
Only days-----given to a mother’s son.
Never to come again……….never to come again.
Fire came down
Upon water rose
Desolations visible again
Again
Again
They chose the path they walk
And sons ran out
Parched lips sang song
Weeping to come………..again?
In cities roam
In space gained for them
I saw her smile
I saw her smile
She sang my song
And I………………………………….never looked back again.
